Your faith in Allah starts with acknowledging your weakness, your poverty and your need to a supreme and unlimited power that ensure your peace and safety. A type of power that when you feel distressed and helpless, your seek its help and refugee. This type of power is reveled to us by Allah, the Almighty & All-powerful. Allah said
أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكۡشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجۡعَلُكُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ أَءِلَٰهٞ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
[ النمل: 62]
Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Little is that you remember (Al-Namal:62)
Thus, it is you and me who need to learn about the Names of Allah, to enjoy worshiping Allah with knowledge and certainty.
Al-Mu’min
(The Infuser of Faith)
The Affirmer of Truth, The Guarantor, The Giver of Faith.
The One Who witnessed for Himself that no one is God but Him; and Who witnessed for His believers that they are truthful in their belief that no one is God but Him. Sayidna ibn Abbass, may Allah be pleased with him, said ”Al-Mumin means that His creations are safe from being oppressed.” It was mentioned once in Quran, Surah Al-Hashir, Aya 23 (السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ) (the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer). Allah praises Himself with the attributes of perfection and majesty, He is the One who sent His messengers, and His Books which are filled with proofs and evidence. He fulfills all His promises that He promised His creations, He provides justice and security to His them, and will not punish any creations unfairly. He is the only One who can protect us from all forms of harm and adversity.
Al-Muhaymin
(The Guardian)
The Preserver of Safety & Overseeing Protector.
The One Who witnesses the saying and deeds of His creatures. Nothing can be hidden from Allah, as Allah said in Surah AlBoroug, Aya 9, (وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ) (And Allah, over all things, is Witness). He preserves everything, as being the guardian or the absolute authority. He can see all that is concealed in the hearts. He knows and controls what was, and what is happening in the present and what will happen in the future. Once we contemplate this idea and the Name of Allah (The Guardian), and that Allah is watching all of you and your actions, you will fear Allah and fear to sin.
Al-Aziz
(The Mighty One)
The Strong, The Most Esteemed, The Exalted in Might.
The Defeater Who is not defeated. He is the one who is most powerful. He is the conqueror who is never conquered and never harmed. This is because His strength, glory, and power are overwhelming, and cannot be overcome or resisted. He is the only one with complete mastery over all creation. The Name of Allah (Al-Aziz) was mentioned 92 times in Quran. Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is in a position of power, He can subdue anyone who opposes Him. Yet to those who deny and to those who disbelieve. He punishes with justice and fairness, and no can can reverse His punishment. He punishes the transgressors, He can be most severe.
May Allah treat us with His Attributes of Mercy, and indulge us with His believers whom He protects and loves.
